Go to the store and get cranberry pills, they're at like Vitamin World and grocery stores and drug stores in with the herbal supplements.
Cranberry Juice and plenty of water. Do not drink anything with caffiene or carbonation for a week after the infection is gone.
I took the cranberry pills for a week, I took two pills four times a day with Advil for the pain it began clearing it up the first day, no joke. I stopped drinking anything with caffiene or carbonation and just concentrated on cleaning out my system. I felt good enough to work in the warehouse again the next day. I just kept taking the cranberry pills and drinking the water and cranberry juice and I felt totally normal by the end of the third day.
I got a large bottle of the cranberry pills for $16.00 and it saved me the small fortune I'd have spent for the office visit at the doctors and the prescription for antibiotics. The doctor gave me a prescription for an antibiotic that was supposed to work super good. The cost for the prescription alone was 82.00 for 5 frickin pills. You take two the first day and then one a day for the next three days. It was a load of crap I used the prescription and it didn't do a thing except break my bank account. It didn't even work. So I drank alot of cranberry juice and water and it cleared up real fast.
The next time I got a UTI I bought the cranberry pills because they're concentrated and drank cranberry juice and water and the relief begins real soon after you start taking it. I don't get UTI's often but I think that was the worst one I've ever had in my life and I haven't had one since.
Hope your wife feels better soon.

First of all, I think you should get your wife to a doctor right away. UTI is treated relatively easily if caught early. The longer it's allowed to continue, the more likely the infection will spread or the symptoms to get worse. Also, it's possible for the symptoms to be something other than a UTI, requiring additional treatment. Even if you can get the immediate symptoms to go away using a home remedy, it's possible that the cause of the problem will continue to fester, causing more problems later.

If the problem is that you don't have health insurance and can't afford a doctor or prescriptions, many State or County health departments have clinics with free or sliding-scale fees. I've had experience with both very expensive doctors paid for by health insurance, and State health clinic doctors. There were several times when I found the health clinic doctors to be more attentive and helpful than the doctors for whom you're more like a "customer" than a patient.

You may have to fill out forms about your financial status. They may also offer a way for you to purchase your wife's prescriptions at a reduced cost.

If your wife's symptoms are bad, you should take her to the emergency room for immediate treatment. Again, many hospitals cooperate with the State health departments to provide free, low-cost, or sliding scale payments or will make payment arrangements for you.

Having said all that, I did an Internet search for "urinary tract infection" and found several web sites that offer at-home remedies for UTI. I have -not- included them in this response because 1) several charge a small fee to purchase their "secret" UTI remedy; 2) I haven't used any of these remedies and can't vouch for their safety or effectiveness; and 3) if you try them and they don't work, it simply delays getting your wife the diagnosis and treatment she needs.

I have included links, below, to web sites that provide information about UTI, including suggestions to prevent future occurrences.

I wish your wife a speedy recovery. I had UTI myself several years ago and know how bad the symptoms can be.

Urinary tract infections shall be treated at home but only by consulting the doctor. No home remedies. There may be pyuria or bacteriuria. Urinary tract organisms are easily resistant to antibiotics . Hence a culture should be done properly. It may relapse or reinfect if not properly treated. It may be upper urinary tract infection or Lower urinary tract infection. So whatever it might be, leave it to the physician concerned - the nephrologist, But she might be treated at home by the doctor without getting admitted in the hospital depending on the conditions.

Have her drink LOTS of Cranberry juice and water. The more the better. There are some over the counter pills you can take for uti's. I think AZO is the name of one, it really helps to relieve the symptoms. Keep a close eye on her symptoms tho, because untreated uti's can turn into kidney infection which can be quite ugly. I let one go until it turned into a kidney infection one, and it was ugly. Had a tempereature of about 103.5 and was vomiting black stuff. Doctor almost put me in the hospital. Don't mean to scare you or gross you out, just want you to know what can happen.

" Ural" small green and white box, it is the best thing since sliced bread. should be able to get it at any pharmacy. Take a small sachet with water in the morning and by the avo infection gone, pleasant tasting and very cheap.
Straight after sex you wife needs to go and pee as not doing so will result in germys getting up into the bladder which is the most common reason for bladder infections.

you can buy UTI med at the store, but it only treats the UTI temporarily and only treats the symptoms. she needs to see a doctor ASAP to get some antibiotics. to help keep her system clean, go to a health store and have her buy some bilberry and natural, unsweetened cranberry and follow the instructions. some flax might work as well. make sure she drinks plenty of green tea and good clean water. we need to drink to keep bacteria flushed out so it will not cause infections.
