True demon possession does exist but I don't know how you could prove it scientifically.

"Demon possession" is an explanation by itself. It is NOT a scientific one.

Scientists invent a hypothesis, and then try to prove it WRONG. And only if they cannot find a discrepancy, do they accept it as true. With two competing theories, they look for an experiment that would produce a different result from each theory, and perform that test, then discard the theory that failed.

A person who believes in demon possession stops looking for other explanations. This is not scientific.

People that become demonically possessed generally are either paying for their own sins, paying for the sins of those close to them, or paying for the sins of their ancestors. Demons are more likely to possess a generally moral person than a completely wicked person. This is because the Devil believes he already possess those souls. Possession is generally brought about by the Devil with the aid of a witch.

It would depend on what the circumstances are. Are you talking “the Exorcist” type possession? Or are you referring to a change in voice, memory loss, and violent outbursts? The latter of the two can be diagnosed as a series of mental disorders. The first example is Hollywood smoke and mirrors.

Mental illness ... Getting High/Drunk... (all the above answers so far I guess),
or if the paranormal ever gets rationally explained I guess it would be parrellel universes merging or something, or something from another plain or relm entering through a gateway/tear or even a tear in time.

???

But that's to say if they can ever proove such things, and even if such things like in Sci-Fi even ever existed or will exist ... who knows.

Ergot fungus that grows on wheat. It can be used to explain the behavior of "possessed" girls during the Salem witch trials. It is a fungus which is chemically related to LSD. Ingestion causes a reaction in patients called "St. Anthony's Fire"... pretty scary, actually.
