I don't think any age is a reasonable age to get a mobile phone. They become a handicap. Whenever you are bored you pick up your phone and start talking. When you are driving and bored you pick up your phone and call someone.

When you have just some stupid thing to say that "just can't wait" then you pick up your phone and start talking.

Talking on the phone all of the time makes the time that you actually spend with people less meaningful. It also distracts you from paying attention to the thing that you are involved with at the present moment.

When you are with your friends you should give your attention to your friends, but when you are not with you friends, then you should give your attention the person or thing that you are involved with at that present time.

Also, it is going to cost a lot of money, to keep that phone, up and as you become more attached to it, that will just be one more thing needlessly devouring hard earned money.

If you're careful with your money, you could go with a pre-paid cell plan. The cheapest one I know of, Tracfone, has an older Nokia they sell for $20, and another $20 will buy you 60 minutes of service service for 60 days (got one at Target for my dad - he needed a cheap phone to keep in his car). You'd have to be careful with your minutes so you wouldn't run out.

If, after this, you pick up a job and show your parents you're responsible with your cell phone and your minutes, and paying them, you might be able to talk them into something a little more elaborate. Just be prepared to earn it.

Who needs a mobile phone? Just use the regular phone. Like Most People Did Just Fifteen Years Ago.

wow what kind of slang are you speaking?? jeez. credit? listen, you dont have credit. you have cash. second, you shoudl have cell phone by age 11. it is a important. parents can know where you are. if you want one have your parents pay because itll be too much. unless they add you to their plan which will only be 10$ a month. so its not that much. just say if i get stuck somewhere and i have no phoen then what. say its a lifesaver,

age matters not, as long as one is capable of responsible usage, then go for it:)
