Sasha is most definitely a girls name (the famous ice skater Sasha Cohen)... Surely in America, a boy named Sasha is going to be a target of ridicule by other young boys with names like Mike, John, Eric, Paul, James, Rick...see my point, so do the right thing and leave Sasha for the girls.

Most of the time Sashas are girls, and I haven't heard of a boy named Sasha yet,so I guess it's a girls name.

Just by the sound. Parents in the early 1800's would name their children according to the virtues or qualities they wanted that child to have. Thus many girls were named Chastity, Hope, Faith, Rose, Daisy, and so on. Boys were named by heroes of the Bible, David, Joseph, Emmanuel, Peter...and so on.
Think of the heavily accented part of that name Sasha....SH, it makes one think of a quiet, demure girl. I do not think it's a manly name, by reason of the culture I live in and how we learned to name our children. Even today, people will not name their child after a person they knew with undesirable qualities.

Defiantly a girls name, if a guy was called this people would probably make jokes about him. That's what happened to by best guy friend.

Boy name. I think it's a Russian nickname for Alexander; Russian boy nicknames can end in "a" no problem. (I had a roommate Dmitri called Dima.)

You must be from Russia to have this problem. In Russia this is a short form for Alexander and Alexandra.
