When you apply eyelinner, do you have to apply it to the top AND bottom of your eye or can you just do one or the other and how can you apply it without it being an uneven line?

First, make sure you sharpen your eye pencil before each use for a more precise application. Begin at the outside corner of your eye and draw small feather like strokes connecting each one as you move toward the inside of the eye. Then blend with a small brush. Then apply a powder shadow in a similar color over the pencil to make it look more natural. For nighttime drama, I like to use a pencil underneath the eye and along the upper lash line. Make sure it grows thicker as it extends towards the outer corner of the eyes. You want the color to be more intense at the outer corner and slowly fading as it reaches the inner corner.

When you apply eyeliner, go to the bottom and apply from the outside corner to the outside edge of your iris. This will open the eye and give them a very nice wide look, if you apply above and below, you will look like you have tiny hard eyes. To stop an uneven line, go through the eyelashes, nature has put a line for you to follow. Tidy any smudging with a cotton bud.

I apply the liquid eyeliner in a very fine line above my eyelid. On nights out I will put a very fine line at the bottom of my eye's to make them stand out more. Apart from women's hair the next thing noticed about them is their eyes.
When you are applying the eyeliner if it does go all over the place get a cotton bud with a little cream on it and try and wipe off very lightly where your eyeliner has gone wrong. If you are wearing eyeshadow and it takes it off just re-apply some above your eyeliner. Just remember that the more you use the eyeliner the better you will become at putting it on.

You can apply it to the top only, never the bottom only, that looks strange. Some people say lining the upper lid and not the lower opens the eye, or just applying liner in the outer edge of your lower lid.
If you pull the corner of your eye with one hand and apply with the other it helps with a straighter line.

ok;i gave this advice to another chic.....when using your eyebrow pencil(if just recently sharpened) tap it down on a paper towel or tissue so u wont have this point thing going in your eye(it creates a blunt end)....Next, hold the bottom part of your eye down as though you're trying to put in a contact. To make the darkness even start off with a smooth light line then progress to heavier& more full coverage. Personally,I can never get the pencil to work on my eye lid so I use liquid eyeliner for that & I love it cause it works just like a paint brush. For liquid eye makeup just close your eye, but not all of the way and start from your inner eye and simply draw a line across....If it doesn't work the 1st time....u have plenty of practice time...remember it is liquid.......Believe me it took me 2 times to put that crap on this morning and I've been wearing it for 3-4-5 years now....Hope this helps. :-)

Rest your non-drawing hand on the side of your face and rest your elbow on the table- it keeps your head steady and also 'flattens' the skin near the eye making the line easier to draw.

Top only is most natural- bottom can 'close' the eye. Darker top and lighter bottom (e.g. a dark brown and a goldy borwn) is a bit complex but defines and opens the eyes.

It depends on the shape of your eye. Just experiment until you find a look that works for you.
As for an uneven lines, get a fairly soft eyeliner so it doesn't drag your skin, rest the hand you're going to use to line your eyes with on a flat surface, then rest your chin on the other hand. This should help steady your hands. Other than that, practise!

well depends. If you want to apply it to the bottom then don't apply it to the top because it will look like you had diarrhea. If you're applying it to the bottom hold the pencil really still and you'll get it. When you apply it to the top. Then you have to hold your eyelid down and "draw" on it and you'll have beautiful eyes :)

I apply it to all my bottom eye and a little bit of the top, jsut so it links, but you dont have to! I pull my eye lid tight so the eyeliner pencil can jsut skim over the lid without getting caught on the skin, therefore you have a nice even line! :)
