I've been married to someone who I believed loved me. Over the last 2 years I found out that my spouse has cheated, lied, refused to live with me, started verbally abusing me and told me that he only married me to get his papers. My spouse is an immigrant and I am the sponsor. I decided I can't trust my spouse and now want out of the marriage. What can I do???

Get a divorce as quick as possible, and lets hope you didn't have children yet with this guy. What a user he is, and you don't need someone like that in your life. and even before the official divorce comes through, leave him and stop seeing him for he will only hurt you more and more.

Run do not walk to a divorce lawyer. No one deserves to be used like that. The abuse will get worse if he is just using you to get a free ride in this country. Then send his sorry butt back to his own country.

Contact ICE and tell them that it turns out your spouse married you under false pretenses in order to illegally enter this counrty (it is ILLEGAL to pretend to love someone so they will marry you and you can immigrate here). They will likely arrest him. He will go to prison for a few months and then be deported when he is released.

gte a divorce pronto! he sounds like he is just using you. you need a relationship in which the other person values you personally, and not just for what he can get from you! This is an unhealthy relationship. get out now!

divorce, no reason to continue a relationship that does not exist. so yes, get a lawyer.
