Try the following:

- reboot

- run spyware scanners such as Spybot, Ad-Aware, Pest Patrol, etc.

- update your antivirus scanner and scan C:

- reboot into safe mode and delete them from there

- make sure you're logged into Windows with an administrator account

If you have a bootable CD, boot with it and delete the file (from a command prompt or terminal window). Otherwise, open a command prompt and run attrib (with that file's name) in the directory that file is located in. See if it's read-only or system. (If it is, attrib can change it - type attrib /? for help).

If this is not affecting your computer's performance, then leave it alone. Usually Windows keeps empty files like that as a record only. If there are files, it will show, if not don't worry about it.

restart go into safe mode....how?
here it is:
while the pc is booting press F8 several times
you will wnd up in OS choice menu

from there you can select to start at saef prompt, select safe mode and go to your desktop

delete the file.
this should do away with your problem.
