Ok first off, you cannot speak for god,...sorry but only he says what's on his mind and if you want to bring the bible into it, why dont you check out what it says about judging,...everyone is equal, and for you to look around and point your finger at what you consider to be wrong is anything BUT being close to god. You guys always want to tell others how to be good christians but the people that need the most work are the hateful ones like you. STOP judging and STOP trying to act like god. You do not make the rules, you cannot punish without receiving it later on and most of all you cannot speak for god, so just shut your hetero mouths.

Actually, you made some good points. Apparently you are not totally against religion, as you made reference to scripture, and what it says. You are correct that no person should be judgemental about religious preference. I just don't understand your hostility. You made valid points, then ruined it by hostile statements.

Wow.

Nice way to accuse all straight Christians of being hypocrites, hateful, and judging, and summarily dismissing all people with a different opinion than your own.

I understand you're angry at the way you might have been treated by some Christians, but acting the same way -- whether you feel justified or not -- doesn't really help your position or build any sort of communication that can result in positive change.

Just a clarification on the "judging" thing, since it's commonly misused.

If you read the verse, you'll see that Jesus specifically says to "take the beam out of your own eye first, so that you can help get the speck out of your brother's eye." That's the full quote.

He doesn't say to never criticize or evaluate or offer feedback or suggest that someone else is doing something wrong.

He merely says that one should examine one's own life first and bring a harder level of scrutiny to one's own behavior, so that one is better able to help his brother see clearly.

He actually endorses engaging others in discussion over their behavior, as long as you are harder on yourself than on the other guy.

That sort of self-scrutiny helps us be humble, compassionate, and fair.

It's pretty realistic, pretty good advice.

There are many straight Christians who are supportive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people. Sometimes they get overshadowed by the religious right, which has formed an unholy alliance with the political right.

Most open minded Christians know that Christ never spoke of homosexuality every, at all, but he often reached out to the people who lived in the margins of society, and included them in God's promise of Love and life eternal.

Check out some progressive Christian denominations, like the Deciples of Christ, or the United Church of Christ.

As I've had it pointed out to me by a good friend and an ex, the homosexualtiy is an abomination comes from the book of Leviticus. Something along the lines of "man shall not lay down with man" (paraphrasing). This book also condemns men cutting their hair, eating pork and wearing clothing made of mixed fibers. So the next time they offer their 'religious advice' while eating their ham sandwich and wearing their polyester/cotton shirt with a clean shaven face, just tell them you'll see them in he-double hockey sticks

i agree with you! Amen and all that bs! Christians want the world to live and breath as they do, they believe that anything outside the pages of their precious book is a lie, a temptress, the devil himself or herself coming to take over the world, some christians are not that bad, some are neutral, some are not, cannot punish them all, that applies to everyone, some gays act a certain way or project a certain behavior but you cannot blame the entire community for it, we cannot control each other as they cannot, but christians have had more power over the years than we have, its how the world runs, if you are not christian you are damned, and must be converted, its just the way it is, i have learned to ignore them, just do what you want do it good, have fun enjoy it and when they come to shove thier bible in your throat tell them no thanks, there is no saving me..

Gays are an abomination to God! I know this because I read it in a book written thousands of years ago! Male homosexuality will be punished by eternal hell fire! Female homosexuality is okay though, and the bible says that lesbians should have sex in front of me. I could show you these bible verses, but it is much more intelligent to take what I say on blind faith.

I speak for God, "Ooooooo... look at the ants.... let's step on em." Sleep deprived, sorry. There is this christian guy at my work who like hands me one of those pocket bibles every day. Which no offence to anyone you believes in that junk, I just throw away. I don't need one every day, he doesn't know I am gay... Unless he has Gaydar? In which case, why does he have gaydar... trying to hide something.. He thinks he is better than everyone, though he is highly annoying and no one likes him. If he was doing God's work, wouldn't the other Christians at my job like him? Even they hate him... Rambling, gonna go now.

But what else are they going to do with their day if they can't go around pointing the finger????

The reason they do this is because they have no lives and nothing else to talk about except other people's business. They will be judged when the time comes.

I am going to echo Fortunato's comment...and just add that it sounds like you wrote this after someone managed to hurt you.
I am straight and I don't judge, as I did read that particular commandment. You must have tangled with a real right winger.
