I get rashes from applying sunscreen, even sunscreen with an SPF as low as SPF 4, so I'm worried about my skin and sun protection. What do I do?

I have to be careful with sunscreen too; it can irritate my skin. I'm going to make the suggestions I'm sure you've already tried. Try PABA-free baby sunscreen.. and also look at the active ingredients listed on the label. You might be able to find one particular kind of sunblock (like zinc oxide) that will work. If all this fails, go to your doctor - he/she might be able to help or refer you to a dermatologist.

You only have a couple of options,
1- Don't go outside when the sun is out.
2- If you must go out, were sunscreen, and deal with the allergic reaction, and rash from, the sunscreen.
3- When you go outside in the sun, use an umbrella.

you could be allergic to an additive in the sunscreen. a skin allergy test can be done to figure out which agent is causing the reaction and then you can buy sunscreens without that ingredient.

Try a natural one from a health food store or something. There has to be at least one good sunscreen for you.

have you tried physicians formula my mom uses that one because she also has allergic reactions. there are also a lot of cloths that have a "sunscreen" in them so if you are planning a day at the beach you can use that.

My dad is allergic to sunscreen so he wears pants and long-sleeved shirts as often as he can and uses zinc oxide, which he is not allergic to, on his face and other exposed skin areas.

(Might not help too much, sorry! -Shuff)
