When a small amount of blood is oxidized inside and mixed with cervical mucus, the result is dark, colored vaginal discharge. Strange brown vaginal discharge, like you put it, is almost always a sign of bacterial superinfection.
One bacteria called-Trichomonas is usually the reason of quite heavy brown-yellow discharge which is irritant and smells unpleasant.
There are also some other bacterias that can cause similar symptoms like Gardnerella for example.
your best bet is to visit your doctor asap.

How old are you! If you are between the ages of 12-15 first period perhaps! If you are older and know that you have a period it could be a sign that your period could be coming on or off! But if you feel unconfortable or any strange sensations you may want to see the doctor! OB/GYN!! Call and set up an appointment! Especially If you ae sexually active!

Dark Brown discharge is not a good sign. Go see your ob/gyn for consultation. Good discharge is clear or white.
