They are our neighbor and their country is occupied by US and other its allied.
Afghans need enough time to rebuild their country and the first step can be wipe up "Taliban" militias extremists by Afghan forces.
Secondly they should prevent to farming "Poppy" and other illegal plants.
Afghans are diligent and they can be success.

All I know about Afghanistan is that its all open field, dusty and a land of empty ambitions. You will not see one standing building in any where in Afghanistan, the only "buildings" you will see will be mud huts made of baked clay. Very terrain, so many mountains with no names at all. You will see all mountains and none of them has a name. Locals usually name them in the region they locate. It is a country that everyone is fully arm and heavily, there are more weapons in Afghanistan than food and people, the average man in Afghanistan has at least three automatic rifles, has a long experience in war and fought more wars than any man today living on Earth, in another words Afghanistan has always been in conflict.

North of Pakistan... consisting of a diverse ethnic groups, Pakhtoons, Tajiks, Uzbeks etc, (Ever heard of 'Kafirs of Afghanistan' a tribe with animist practices still in existence??) largely barren mountains... has a history of unrest and wars.... very brave people, openhearted and renowned for their hospitality. Largely Muslim Shia and Sunni. Has had a Buddhist past as well (remember Bamyan Buddhas). Some of the greatest conquerors in India originated from Afghanistan or Central Asia. Assumed to be highly cultured at one stage in History.
Fought Russians during the Cold War and brought down Najeebulah the Russian sponsored ruler. Were the apple of the American eye and respectfully referred to as Mujaheddin. Now branded terrorist Nation for harboring the US created dimwit warmonger Osama Bin Laden.
