Email = noun: electronic mail; mail sent to your PC through the use of IP addressing; verb: the act of sending electronic email

Inbox = a sortable list of incoming email you have received which is queued and stored for you on a server which you access by using an email client provided by your company network or by your ISP, like Yahoo or MSN

Sent items = a sortable listing of copies of the email you have sent from your email account to other individuals and/or groups

Deleted items = a sortable listing of items which you have deleted from various folders, but have not yet permanently deleted by "emptying the deleted items folder." You may move these items back into your inbox or sent folder or any other custom folder you have created

Drafts = saved copies of emails you have not sent because they are not complete or you do not wish to send at the time you save them

Outbox = all emails to be sent; they are stored here when you are working "offline" and are not connected to either your company or home network or your ISP; they will be sent when you connect to a network

E-mail

Short for electronic mail, the transmission of messages over communications networks. The messages can be notes entered from the keyboard or electronic files stored on disk. Most mainframes, minicomputers, and computer networks have an e-mail system. Some electronic-mail systems are confined to a single computer system or network, but others have gateways to other computer systems, enabling users to send electronic mail anywhere in the world. Companies that are fully computerized make extensive use of e-mail because it is fast, flexible, and reliable.

Inbox

An area in memory or on disk that holds received messages that have not been read or processed.

Sent Items

Incoming folder is called "Sent Items"

Deleted Items

The mails that are removed to Trash Box are known as Deleted Items

Drafts

Mails are saved in a "Mail Waiting to be Sent" folder in your Filing Cabinet. This draft can be edited (each time you click "Send Later" revs ions will be made).

Outbox

An area in memory or on the disk that holds messages or files that have not yet been sent to their destination.
