I do love Iraq and the Iraqi people - I hope their chaos can be brought to order soon - they have suffered a lot for a number of years both pre and post Saddam

Hey, Mohammed -- good question. I suppose if you asked an Iraqi, you'd get a million answers. From a US citizen's perspective, there were good reasons to go in and bad reasons to go in; good reasons to 'stay out' and bad reasons to 'stay out'. No single moral argument, nor any appeal to raw patriotism, can justify an unprovoked act of war. It's odd, isn't it, that people start wars for emotional reasons and finish them for rational reasons.
I hope for Iraq that its people find peace, tolerance, successful self-governance, and have an opportunity to make the Iraq that Iraqis want rather than the one the US would have them live with.
As Khofi Annan said, "Democracy is a locally grown crop".

I think that in the midst of all this craziness about the war on terror,we have to remember that most Iraqis are not terrorists, but just people like you and I who just happened to get the short end of a very long stick. So yes.

The land of Iraq is cool ... no problem with that. It's the violence there that bothers me.
