One of the saddest movies I've ever seen would have to be "Training Day," the movie for which Denzel Washington played the rogue cop and won the Academy Award. Saddest because the movie ended in death - there is no hope in death for there can never be compensation for past wrongs. Dead men feel no forgiveness, joy or love. There is only the empty feeling of life wasted.

The saddest, most depressing song in the history of the English language is 'Christmas Shoes.' And the sorry SOB that gave life to that awful urban legend and the one that put it to music should both be doomed to an eternity having to listen to it over and over.

the song Bother, by Stone Sour.

the lead singer is actually the guy from Slipknot, Corey Taylor, however this song is os far on the other side of the spectrum from Slipknot that it is hard to believe it is the same person. Corey Taylor proves that he has an AMAZING voice

It has nothing to do with having a heart broken, but " the sad, the bad, and the hated" by eminem and lil Wayne is a good song if you are depressed

Movie? A. I. - a movie that is far too long and full of loss and hopelessness.
Song? Anything by Leonard Cohen, or The Smiths' 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now'...

Right Here Waiting For You - Richard Marx

Lyrics :

Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesn't stop the pain

If I see you next to never
How can we say forever

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I took for granted, all the times
That I thought would last somehow
I hear the laughter, I taste the tears
But I can't get near you now

Oh, can't you see it baby
You've got me going crazy

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you

I wonder how we can survive
This romance
But in the end if I'm with you
I'll take the chance

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
Waiting for you

The saddest song I think I ever heard was by Pearl Jam, on their new self-titles album, called come back. It is (from my opinion) a song about someone being gone to war, and their partner wishing they would return.
