OK OK I GOT THIS NEW PET MOUSE THE STORE SAID ITS A MALE BUT IT LOOK FAT AND HUGE AND IT TEAKS WHEN U TOUCH IT SIDE AND ONLY ITS SIDE OR LOWER THEN THE BACK ITS KINDA HARD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PET MOUSE BELLY AND ITS SEEMS TO WENT TO EAT A LOT OF THINGS BUT NOT ITS OWN FOOD....ITS DOING SOMETHING TO ITS BELLY A LOT HOW WOULD I KNEW IF ITS A FEMALE AND GONNA HAVE A BABY OR ITS A MALE AND ITS JUST REALLY FAT WITH A HARD STOMIC LMFAO ENEY BODY KNEW THE PET STORE SAID THEY THINK ITS A MALE BUT I MAY BE A FEMALE BY TEH WAY IT IS ACTING ENEY BODIE GOT ENEYTHING BETTER TO SAY BESIDES TAHT LOL

okay look at the genital area of you pet mouse! If their is a little pink dot sticking out of it then it's a male! Female mice are pregnant for only 2 1/2 weeks! So you will find out soon! I had mice as pets too! Mine had babies it was the neatest thing! But you have to make sure when they are done feeding off their mother (when they are bigger) that you separate them BC then they will start reproducing again! Then you will have millions of mice!

with rats & mice , the males are pretty obvious. Rats have huge testicles which get bigger as they grow. Your mouse , if it's a girl will have two openings under the tail. It sounds like a she & it sounds pregnant. Put some bedding in there or cotton pieces or even toilet paper shredded up. Watch. They do try to sex them at the breeders before they ship, but to be honest, most buy mice to feed to their snakes & the sex is not really important to the snake. If she got caged with a male ... Enjoy your new pet. Or pets !!!!

females mature sexually 6wks, males 8wks.
Distance between the external genitalia and the anus is greater in males. Also after about 2wks, females develop visible nipples. In adults the scrotum of the male and testes if they are inverted is an obvious maker. The site below may be of interest to you because it will give you more info and explain the gestation period and how long, so you may know pretty soon if it's female she might be getting ready to give birth, if you got a pregnant female you will need to know what precautions to take to prevent cannibalization.
