I can assure you , generally..... people who answer that they do not trust the police, have been arrested. So putting your criminal activity to the side, do you trust the police?

Okay... Good....For those of you that dont trust the police.. .dont diall 911, save the tax payers money and hire your own emergency services. We will send the police to communities who accept the police. Good luck with ADT security protection

Yes I do trust them. I know many of the officers personally and have worked with them on occasion doing search and rescue.

Yes, after all the local police are most likely comprised of local people-- like everyone else, they're just trying to earn a living, only their occupation is a whole lot more dangerous. Many police officers join because they feel obligated to improve the community, to protect citizens, uphold the law, and etc.
And even if there was a corrupt individual who joined the police force to be a crooked cop, with so many internal affair watchdog groups and regulatory evaluations that would weed them out. In our modern society, you can trust the local police department 98 % of the time anywhere in the United States.

No, i dont trust the police. I havent ever been arrested, or beat up like rodney king. I have been harassed a couple of times, and gotten the usual traffic citations that everyone else gets. And I still dont trust them. Why?
I've seen them in action. I've known some of them before they became cops, and I know why they joined. I know what they are doing as cops, and what they say about other cops.
Yes, there are some good ones, and a lot of bad ones. For the cute little blonde chick, those cops will treat you nice. For somebody like me, i'd better watch my ***. One wrong look and they will **** with me. Its the nature of the beast.

Trust them? To do what? Protect and Serve? Well, they failed at the LA riots didn't they?
And how many were dismissed by the City of New Orleans for direliction of duty? 500?
Are they still releasing the 200 or so convicts Officer Mark Furman manufactured evidence against?
On the plus side, many policemen and women died trying to rescue people in 9/11.
Police personel are sometimes the best of all our society has to offer with failings common to all.

The police in any community come from the population in that community. Having said that, If you take 100 cops and put them in one room, and you take 100 civilians and put them in another room, you have the same number of assholes in each room.
The same holds true for child molesters, dopers, burglars, etc...
While there are "good cops" and "bad cops" this is just a reflection of the population at large. So... do you trust the population at large? I certainly don't! The police are not your friend!

I trust that they are people, and just like people there are good and bad. The real threat comes from the District Attorney's Offices out there!
