We need to allot more tax money to care for them. And I don't mean to give money to them. Our government agencies need to see that they get food, shelter, clothes and help in finding a job. It is a shame that we spend so much money on other countries and not enough on our own people. I know that we have and will always have people that will bum money, cause they are too sorry to work, but there is also people that are sick in the head or for some reasons out of their control they are down on their luck. We need people that work at the shelters to be able to figure out who is needy and who is not.

Wow ... that's a loaded question. What if we made welfare benefits available ONLY to the homeless, and only for a 6 month period while they establish residency? That would free up the funding that's beeing funneled to people who don't deserve it and are getting a free ride.

Habitat for Humanity is making great strides, but there are so many people living on the street BY CHOICE that the situation will never be completely erradicated.

A lot of us are one pay check away from being homeless. It is something that may not have a solution that will please everyone. Homes may need to be different.

I see such big homes being built and I also see so many people unable to afford those homes or going into debt and never being able to pay them off.

There needs to be small housing with solar power, solar heating, water. It can be done. We spend trillions in the country on things that REALLY don't matter we need to get our priorities straight.

Solutions to poverty, make the world a safer place for all.

We can't stop the number of homeless but we can reduce it by opening up Non - Govermental Organizations for the homeless. But it needs large sums of funds. Depends on the people themselves, do they care?

They might be homeless because they brought it upon themselves. They either owed money, didn't work, or got kicked out of their mom's place. I do have pity on some. Especially if they got sued. If I could, I would try to provide a job for them.

Send them away or something. Most people who are homeless are there because they choose to be, trust me I live in Chicago. They have gotten to that point because they made poor descions. If your question is: what can we do to cover up the undesirables, then that is a good question.

The best that we can do for them is to pray for them that they will open their eyes, for in this world we reap what we sow. We make our own destiny. And our destiny does not rely on other people, we have to act.
