the best thing is to sit her down and tell her that you truley love her and want to be best of freinds but you also want her to be your girl friend, because there is no one else you would rather be with,

I can see that the friend is not of like mind. This can be really rough on you, especially when she is on a date with someone else and you are at home thinking about her and she calls and wants to tell you all about her wonderful date.
I know some things about this because I was kind of in the same situation as you and my friend asked me to stand up for him at his wedding and I just could not do it.
Our friendship fell apart right then and I can't say it was a bad thing. I met somebody else and fell head over heels in love. If I had remained friends with my best friend I would never have let myself go out with someone and seriously consider them for a husband.
I got free from him and thought it was going to kill me at the time, but now I know differently. Best friends can only remain best friends if they don't cross a line and when you are opposite sexs it is really difficult sometimes to not let it happen. When best friends are the same sex it just never is a part of the friendship.
So that is why different sex friendships that are close usually don't last forever, because if what I described doesn't happen your spouse will not like it at all that you want to hang around with another girl instead of her.

I can't get her out of my head! That's what I'm going through this very moment.
Do you think there's a possibiity that she could like you too? I don't think you can keep your feelings all to yourself. One of these days, you'll have to tell her.
The very fact that you have feelings for her, it's only in your power to stop that feeling if you can still stop it. So, are you just afraid that it will ruin your friendship or you are sure that telling her will really ruin your friendship?
You know better. Whatever you do, you can't get her out of your head. You can do anything and everything but thoughts of her still springs out of nowhere.
I guess, we're in the same boat... I'll tell her so at least I don't have to think all the what if's I can think of.

If you are that crazy about her, then go for it. Tell her that you think that your relationship is worth the risk. It could be the best decision ever.
If, it does not work out, just shrug it off and blame it on drunkenness or something. A lot of people I know tried to date and they are still friends. Friendships are stronger than relationships. (its much harder to break up with a friend.) If it gets awkward, tell her you will have no contact with her for 30 days. Tell her that she can call first before than, or you will wait 30 to call her.
good luck! I'm rooting for you two!

If she told you she does not want to ruin your friendship, then that is pretty clear cut that she is not into you that way.
If you want to stop thinking about her all the time, then find a new girl to go out with and think about...who knows, she may get jealous and start to dig you...

you should definetly talk to her. i liked my best friend and i made a move on it and it worked out for while.he was the love of my life. we eventually broke up and we didnt talk for a while. but eventually we just got over it and moved on. and now we are really close again. so what im saying is that life is full of chances and if you dont take a risk every once in a while you might be missing out on something great. just think about it a little bit and what youre going to say and then talk to her. if she really is your best friend shell understand no matter what the outcome..

Wow, everyone gets this feeling for short time. Enjoy the situation. Time will tell you the answer. Don't disclose your feelings unless you are sure that she loves you
