My house is stained with cigarette smoke from previous owners.. The mirrors, windows, floors and even the walls have a browny yellowy color, I have tried using vinegar on the mirrors and it has worked somewhat, but our linoleum is stained and the walls and carpet are as well... any suggestions?

Use ammonia and water on the floors, ammonia is a great cleaner if you can stand the smell! On the walls us a product called TSP and follow directions on the box. You can purchase the TSP at most hardware stores and probably Walmart. Rent a rug doctor to clean the carpets and when clean spray with a product called OUT you can find it in the pet center of Walmart, it is made for pet odors and stains, and works on an enzyme, I use it instead of carpet freshners.

There is a product called TSP at the Hardware Store. It is designed for cigarette smoke stains. It really works well. If you have to repaint...clean and prime first. Cigarette smoke bleeds through everything.

I think that vinegar and baking soda would work...spray vinegar on it - then sprinkle baking soda...then mop it up...it makes a mess, but it cleans most everything! try it on an inconspicuous area first because it may cause a small exothermic reaction!
