If your city was in the path of a hurricane would you stay to protect your home or leave? How severe would the threat have to be to make you evacuate?

I'd leave! My life is more important than a house or building. I'd leave soon as I felt threatened.

It depends on a number of things
1 which side of the state is it aiming for
2 How strong is it [2 or less I stay]
3 what is the pressure and how fast is it falling
4 How fast is the eye moving
5How are the models lining up
For others
How prepared are you
what kind of structure do you have
trees around your house or other flying objects
in town or out
How far from the coast
how far from predicted landfall
You usually don't have to go very far just away from the right side stay away from the east or south side. If you are told to leave LEAVE trust your gut

I think it's easier to move because most people who live in the path of hurricanes got houses with wheels.

I think it depends, if the hurricane is strong, better to save my life and evacuate....if not, better to to stay and protect my home.

After seeing the devastation of Katrina, I would definitely leave. We can't depend on our government and can't fight nature.

I think it depends on what you have to lose such as vaulubles,family valuables,things you cant carry and your personal value of self.
