I visited there twice 6 weeks each time. There are many little communities around Seattle that are really cozy. Both times I was there it was December and January. It Snowed only one each time but rained enough I got used to it. Its not a hot sticky rain like TX either.
I live in S.F. Bay Area, nicest climate anywhere, but I would consider Seattle area.

You will definitely not have hot and bright in Seattle. I'm not sure where the person who mentioned snow is talking about. The Cascade Mountains, to the East of Seattle get snow, but the city of Seattle, itself, gets very little.

I like living in Seattle - it has an excellent Grand Opera Company.

Good change because Seattle is ALWAYS grey and dreary all-year long. Bring raincoats and unbrella, it rains a lot in that part of the country!
