I think that the patch is being blamed for deaths in young women. I think that the Morning After pill might have something to do with this since it contains a very high dose of hormones. What do you think?

I do not believe in the morning after pill. I just thought that if the Orto Evra patch has sooo many hormones in it and it can "kill" you then why do people think that it's so safe to just think they get pregnant and take the morning after pill alone as a form of birth control.

~I thought the question was dumb until I read busball's answer. Whatever happened to getting your sex education in the back alley? At least the information there was informed and valid.
Ever heard of planned parenthood? Doctors? Parents?
I would give you the real dope on this issue, but giving dope to a dope is not a good thing.

I deal with kids who think they know how their bodies work everyday and I am truly sick of the ignorance out there. How can people be so naive, or just plain stupid, with all the legitimate information out there. Oh, yes, they go to YaHoo Answers instead of asking someone who might actually have some knowledge on the subject. So, when you get knocked up, who is going to raise and support the kid? Me and the rest of the taxpayers? Again?

Any type of birth control pill etc. with hormones has risks and everyone who takes them is advised of the risks (as long as they were prescribed by a doctor). Smoking greatly increases the risks. If people don't decrease their risk then it is possible that they will die.

I don't see how people wind up dead from the morning after pill unless they choke on it. That is a mystery to me. I suppose I would have to read the autopsy report, assuming I could make any sense of it.

I think that young women who smoke while on the patch need to quit smoking. I think that people who die after taking the morning after pill had underlying problems to begin with, and the morning after pill broke the camels back so to speak.

The problem with the patch is that because it's going directly on your skin, it doesnt go through your stomach like the pill, so it's directly put into your body. The high dosages are causing heart problems in women.
