I would say the best hotel I have ever stayed in is probably the Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, followed closely by the Hapuna Beach Hotel on Hawaii's Big Island and the Manele Bay hHotel on Lanai.

I cannot tell you the name of the dive I stayed with in Kingman, Arizona. I can tell you the clerk, a shapelees he/she wearing some sort of velour outfit greeted me from behind a glass partition like in a bank or a prison visiting area. The bed was so fithy and stained that I slept in my sleeping bag in the closet. Somewhere in this palace it sounded like another guest was engaging in unnatural acts with an animal. After three hours of exhausted semi-sleep I stumbled out to my car and drove 10 hours to Lake City.

The worst was the "inter-continental" in Dallas like 5 months ago. It was suppose to be a four star hotel, but the life guard left early, no Jacuzzi, the person giving directions around town could not be found, my room sucked the only good thing about it was the room service.

The worst was the Howard Johnson in Hot Springs. The place was just kind of nasty and the stairways had huge chunks on broken concrete on the floor. The best was the Crowne Plaza in New Orleans(pre Katrina). It just so amazing and the nicest hotel I've ever been in.

Worst hotel..I think it was called Silver Star somewhere in central British Columbia. We phoned ahead to reserve from a tourist bureau because the price was what we were looking for. We got there and then they charged us a lot more. Then they phoned us in our room and said we had to pay extra for my 2 year old...and extra if we wanted the kitchenette. I had a nasty argument with the guy over the phone...and we said to heck with it..we will just lose our money and leave our yucky room overlooking the garbage bins. The jerk of a manager called the cops on us!!...because I swore at him. ( He swore at me first) Anyway..the cops said we should report the manager to the chamber of commerce..they were on our side. Just to let you know..we weren't a wild bunch...It was me, my two little kids and gramma and grampa. It was a nightmare...my 4 year old daughter ended up in the hospital having emergency surgery the next day. What an awful holiday.

In 1994, I flew to visit a pal in Southern California. Her boyfriend on the time replaced into no longer prepared on travellers, and the in reality position everywhere close to her i ought to have sufficient money to stay replaced into this truck end off I-5 that had actually no longer some thing except 2 hotels (one of which replaced into inn 6) and a Denny's, someplace round Barstow/Victorville. no longer some thing else yet barren region for miles, and that i had no automobile to bypass everywhere. I stayed on the single which wasn't inn 6 reason it replaced into more cost-effective (do not even undergo in thoughts the call of the position anymore, yet I undergo in thoughts the adventure). as well there being fleas in the carpet and on the curtains and the bedsheets being stained, the in reality 2 television stations that had any reception in any respect were the interior reach information broadcast station (or maybe that replaced into fuzzy) and the inn-owned porn channel (which got here in sparkling obviously yet were given quite boring after the first hour or so). I undergo in thoughts the phone rang early my first morning, even though it replaced into no longer my pal...it replaced into some random guy providing me oral sex. It replaced into torture having to stay there 3 days with actually no longer some thing to do except study the books i'd luckily presented alongside...I in reality were given to ascertain my pal about an hour out of daily (again, attributable to her overbearing boyfriend). i could not ever go away the room for extraordinarily lengthy because it replaced into unbearably warm outside and that i'd stupidly forgotten both my go well with and my sunscreen (thank god the position a minimum of had air con!) and ended up going domicile with distinctive flea bites. Ick. Oh, and between the nights a coyote actually ventured as a lot as my window and scratched on the glass, scaring me to death. i'd never been happier to get out of an area in my existence.
