Overall, Kobe Bryant is a better player.
Wade is awesome at getting to the basket and has his midrange bank shot. He's also a bit quicker than Kobe, but thats about it.
Bryant has been one of the best defensive guards in the league for many years. Wade's good but no where close to how clutch Kobe is (how many 3's has Wade made while being triple teamed in the last second?). Kobe also has a better midrange and 3pt shot than Wade; overall he has a bigger selection of shots and moves to choose from. Bryant is a better floor general, and seems to have a bigger desire to win.
Bryant also has more NBA experience than Wade will have, since he started when he was 17-18 years old. I've watched Bryant hitting shots while being Quadruple teamed (hitting shots while double teamed almost the whole game). The whole Series between Dallas and Miami, whenever Wade got double teamed by Harris, Howard, or Terry he couldn't make squat.

First off, that guy "BENZ" that answered this question first clearly has no idea what he's talking about. His information was correct, but his conclusion based on the facts was totally wrong. He said everything i was going to say to prove my case why WADE is better player than Bryant. No Wade doesn't have any rings (YET), but Kobe didn't win those rings by himself, it was the team. so that is irrelevant. He mentioned WADE leads the league in turnovers, averages more assists that Kobe, is a better team player than Kobe, and Wade makes others better. That sounds like a better OVERALL player to me. The only thing Kobe may have on Wade for now is points, and that hardly means anything because Kobe is pratically the only one scoring on the Lakers where as Miami has a high percentage of bench scoring, so everyone on Miami is getting a piece of the action. Wade has nothing to prove, because he has already proved why he was first draft pick in 2003 and why he deserves to be in the NBA. Case closed.

A complete player must be above average if not spectacular at both ends of the court, offense and defense. There is no one, I repeat no one in the league today that can score the way Kobe does, don’t get me wrong there are contenders, A.I., T-Mac, LBJ, to name a few but Kobe is on another level. Dwayne Wade is a fantastic scorer, he has a killer crossover, unearthly moves, deadly mid-range shot, and has an apartment on the free-throw line, but he has a suspect 3-pt shot. Now I love D-Wade, he’s an assassin, he can stick a dagger in you at any given time, but Kobe would stick it in you and twist the blade around. Kobe has no offensive deficiencies. Once D-wade works on the threes, and people begin to respect his shot from beyond the arc, he will be unguardable and may very well surpass Kobe, but for now its #24 all the way.
On the Defensive end, look at Kobe’s accomplishments and look at D-Wade’s, Mr. 81 is a proven all-team defender year after year.

Little knowledge is dangerous.. Listen up kids.. Were not here to argue, we here to set out some facts..
Kobe has 3 rings, Wade will probably get his first.. Kobe scores more because his teammates are heartless players too afraid to step up to the plate, Wade not only have Shaq,he also have Walker,Payton,Posey,Williams and Mourning.. Kobe made his teammates better in the playoffs but they just lost to a better team,Wade just has to run thru the defense knowing he has a Shaq waiting to bulldozer his way to score or a williams and payton for a J,Mourning for D and Posey and walker for a 3.. Im not saying Wade is not a good player, he is very good, but so was Allan Houston(who battled the duncan/robinson spurs in 99), Penny Hardaway(who ruled the NBA before with shaq),Grant Hill(next MJ),Jamal Mashburn28ppg.,Latrell Sprewell25ppg.,Jim Jackson27ppg.,and so on.. My point? wade will probably get his first ring, but will he last? With his style of play that he has to risk injuries by driving hard to the hoop almost every single time because of a lack of height and outside shot? Can he last 10 years like Kobe did? Kobe has been thru it all guys, he battled MJ and some of the biggest star in the League,Grant Hill(before the injury),Charles Barkley,Vince Carter(before the injuries when he came surging almost eclipsing Kobes fame)..etc. etc. etc..
Kobe is a simply a better player because he has been thru a lot more than Wade, and to last ten years as an NBA superstar and never fading but instead keeps on rising.. That says much about Kobe Bryant, Wade compared to MJ? Kobes been there too! And he scored 81,something MJ never accomplished, and by the way MJ didnt make his team better.. Kukoc was a magic Johnson in his country,Pippen was an expected superstar as a rookie,Harper was dubbed the next best thing to MJ as a rookie, Rodman was a defensive/rebound specialist,Kerr was a college 3-point king..
There is no point in arguing if you lack the facts..

You guys are too deep in the forest to see the trees...where Wade has Shaq, Wade can play off of that and go 1 on 1. Kobe has nobody (sorry Odom u aint that great) and has to deal with double and triple teams and STILL manages to shoot at 45% or better. The same goes for LeBron, hes able to overcome double teams, because he bull dozes his way. Kobe is better defensively, (Held wade to around 20 points where as Kobe went off like usual). Wade is not that great of a passer as people think he is, he just has shaq to bail him out. The same assumption was made with Kobe when he had Shaq. Kobe is a better 3 pointer because he always has the ability to simply, stop, pop and swish. They tie for mid range, and Kobe is more better at finishing at the hoop. Wade has a quicker step, but overall, Kobe wins. Basically, I wanna see Wade play without Shaq and have to deal with double teams and such...

Kobe by far.....he is the man aka mr 81..he has defensive titles..wade=no D, Kobe has 3 rings and a ring in his 4th season, MVP titles, scoring titles. Wade leads the league in turnovers..Kobe is the man as for now..Wade still has time though Kobe scoring leader and best feild goal percentage... got the young lakers to the playoffs without Shaq, as for those who said Kobe cant dunk....a dunk title in 97'. Dont get me wrong Wade is a great in the MAKING. HE will pass Kobe eventually. But Wade averages two more asists than Kobe and a better team player...Kobe can carry a team, but Wade makes others better.Wade still has alot to prove....

Both players are playing off the charts right now but I would give the edge to Kobe. He is working with less talent around him and still leading his team. With a little more help he can really lead a team. Dwayne is playing really well but he is still young and does make some mistakes that I cannot see Kobe making in clutch situations.

Yea 1st of all let me make corrections 2 Benz, Kobe has neva won a MVP trophy, i agree dat he should have gotten it dis year and 2003, but he didnt. Then he has only won 1 scoring title, and dat wuz dis year, he hasnt got da plural on da n yet. But if u look at through stats Kobe winning, n my opinon the only reason D-Wade n da finals now, is bcuz of the same reason Kobe wuz n it. Shaq. Dats just looking at teams, by the players dem selfs, Kobe da man, look at all the records Kobe has shattered, da only record D-Wade got is most free throws made n a finals game. WOW. if u ask me D-Wade should have gotten Mr. Foul Man of the year. Kobe should have won every award, expect Rookie and Sixth Man. Kobe has 3 rings on his finger, he gon get at least anotha 3. 1st he scored 62 point, next he scored 81, if u look at it. eva time he scored 19 mo' points. Now 81 plus 19 equal a 100. so watch next season Kobe going off wit his new number.
YA HEARD!!!
