What advice do you have for a woman who really wants to be married? How is it some people can get a man to the altar after 6 months and yet other women like me (no, I am not a toad; I am actually very attractive and extremely intelligent) cannot seem to get a man to commit.
Do you think that women who are very intelligent intimidate men and this dooms them to be single for the rest of their life.

No, intelligence is awsome and helps a guy commit.
Sexiness gets his attention and is very important.
We always think of sex, constantly.

That man will want you nver to go away and will not want another man to have you. That will make him want to marry you. Your intelligence will help you get him to bite the hook.

Seriously, find a geek. I'm dating a programmer now and this relationship has a lot more potential than the others because he actually *gasp* does what he says he'll do. And I know from experience that dumb guys really don't do a lot for smart women, heh.

(Not sure about the marriage part though. I don't think he'll have a problem with it when the time is right, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it heh.)

P.S. If you think being single makes you "doomed for life" then perhaps you need to work on your relationship with *yourself* before you worry about a relationship with a guy.

Maybe you are trying to hard to get someone to commit and it scares the he** out of them. If you act desperate, men will run the other way. Not all men are afraid of intelligent women. The ones that seem only interested in the physical, aren't the right guy for you anyway. I'm sure if you lighten up, you can find someone.

Most men are afraid of rejection when the women is attractive. So, they don't approach them. You may have to make the move first and don't for get the guys who wouldn't be on the top ten list either. They are just as good if not better!

My humble opinion is that once you find one who you are truely compatible with, things like when, where, how, even if you get married arent a problem, because everything just works out! If you feel that youve found someone truely special then talk out the issue of comittment. If he says hes afraid of your intelligence say well too bad for you and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

I think it depends upon the man we're talking about, here. If you've got a confident guy, he most likely wouldnt mind you being a few watts brighter than he. On the other hand, the less confident the guy, the more it may bother him.

Just slow down and dont rush things. Take your time and date and get to know someone over time. The right man for you will come along someday you just have to be patient and wait. The timing will be perfect and right when it does happen and you will know in your heart he is the right one. I wish you the best.

Yeah, you need to be somewhat submissive. It's actually more attractive than intelligence (I know...sad)
