i was eating sardines and i spilled it on a cloth sofa. how do i get rid of the smell?

use standard cleaners to get the fish oils out then use lemon juice for the smell. also works on your hands.

Vinegar works great. You can put some in a spray bottle, dilute half with water. If the smell is really bad use full strength. I dont know if it works on material but I know to get smell off your hands all you need to do is rub them on stainless steel, such as the faucet. Try it! You will be amazed how well it works.

Take a small suede brush or nail brush dipped in white vinegar. Clean the area. It won't stain and when it dries, the smell and oil will be gone. Neither will it smell like vinegar. Happy cleaning!

Try one of those carpet cleaners that removes pet smells. Dunno if it will help, but it's worth a shot..
