Is there a way to learn to roll your r's?

Well I'm going to Mexico as an exchange student, and I'm already going to stick out like a sore thumb because I'm so pale, and I don't want to sound like a total foreigner when I'm speaking. The trouble is, I just can't roll my r's. Help?

Try saying brrrrrrr...over and over...as in "...brrrrr it's so cold!" Say it without sound first....feel the vibration it produces....not burrrr....it's brrrrrrrrr....over and over....without sound then add sound when you feel it tremble- feel it tremble I tell ya!...you can do it! Learning how to whistle is the same.....keep at it...until all of a sudden - voila! You did it!!!!

I have always had trouble with those too. I would just say practice or ask someone in person to help you out like a spanish teacher or something.

Dont worry about being pale, Ever watch Mexican TV? If you spoke Spanish like the Mexican they would have no idea you were not Mexican. As for the R's I have been trying to do that for years with no success

Who knows ? No one who speaks Spanish can't do this. Some of us who don't speak an 'r rolling" language just can't do it.

Put the tip of your tongue right up to the back of your top teeth, but make sure it's loose. Then just blow!

Try placing your tongue on the roof of your mouth (palate) and blow air through the middle.

I think it's built in to your genetic system, i've tried all my life but i can't manipulate my tongue that way

Try saying "Arrr" like a pirate.
