Maybe that you are a perfectionist and very creative, or you just never learned a routine or the skills needed to keep up with a home.

It's not instinct, even though it seems to be for some people.

If you need a system to make it fun and efficient, I suggest FlyLady.Net: http://www.flylady.net/pages/WhyFly.asp

Or you could have an inner brat! If your motto is "If it's not fun, it won't get done." You may need to visit Bratland: http://www.thebratfactor.com/

I don't know what it says for you because I don't know you personally, but for my ex husband it said he was lazy, a slob, and didn't care about himself or others (fit his personality perfectly).

I have a semi messy home (a little clutter, but basically clean) and I am nothing like my ex husband.

I have a friend who is an absolute slob in her home, but she is the most awesome person.

I think it all depends on you, your personality, your lifestyle, etc,. There are so many factors that come into who/what a person is.

You're lonely. IF you're living with someone or married and are still messy, maybe you lived that way. Childhood does alot of things. Maybe you like the freedom to do whatever the heck you wish. I'll bet that you would love a neat area, but want or expect someone else to create it.

That you need to take better care of yourself.
It's an indication of self-neglect.
Sometimes a messy home could symbolize something deeper like maybe you have other issues going on in your life that's in disarray like job, family, personal problems, etc...

In general terms, because a person would really need to know you to answer this question, I would say that you spend your time on what you think is important instead of cleaning your home. Or your pre-occupied with something else.

Your probably a really busy person, but at the same time if your worried about it and want to change it why are you on here right now and not cleaning?

that you're either too busy to clean, or you're lazy. My house used to be spotless...before I had kids. Now, if you can see the floor it's a miracle.

If you're having company over that doesn't know you too well., I'd take them time to clean up. If it's family, they can move a pile over to visit.

Not a domesticated person. You rather spend time on other things. You probably are a relax type.

It says that there are more important things in your life than obsessive cleanliness.
Some things just don't matter. Like underwear and HBO.
