Everything should work, if you do everything according to the instructions and don't miss anything.

Check this list and see if you missed any:
1. Ant poison barrier around the house, granules available at nurserys and large hardware stores.

2. Ant bait around the house

3. Keep trash out of the house, outside the barrier

4. Keep the floors clean and food in the refridgerator or in the trash outside the house.

Good luck!

first of all, it depends on what type of ants you have. the most likely suspects are sugar/grease ants, which are the teeny tiny ones that come out mostly in the kitchen or anywhere else that there's food that they can nibble on. the best way to get rid of these is by putting out several ant bait stations that have a hard brown substance that almost looks like petrified peanut butter. I think we got ours at Lowe's and they may have been made by the company Zep, but I'm not completely certain. I'm sure someone at the store would know. the ants are completely attracted to these things. you have to let them get in there, take the stuff, and let them go back to the nest. if you kill them on the bait, they won't take the poison back to the nest and kill the others.

When I was a little girl and we have serious ant problems, I would take a bottle of Raid and get every corner and crack that I could think of.

Next, I would then trace the ants to where they were coming in from the outside. Where ever I saw a line of ants, I sprayed, and I kept spraying until I felt I was far enough away from my home...

I also did this weird baby powder trick where I would line all my doors with a small sprinkling of baby powder. It wasn't aesthetically appealing, but oddly enough, it worked..

I just did it so i know this works! I got a Jolly Rancher candy and laced it with a poison called "Terro". It is a poison for ants that comes in a clear liquid but is relatively safe around the house. (I have animals so am pretty picky) They were gone in 2 days They take the poison back to the nest and it kills them all. Good luck! Hope this helps. Make sure to place it near where they have a trail established. then with the rest of hte bottle of Terro I laid it on its side and they devoured it! They are very attracted to it and as I said they were gone in 2 days!

Spectracide brand Fire Ant Killer Granules, Mound Destoyer. This is the best. Get it from Lowe's. It comes in an orange bag. I had ants inside too and I got rid of all the ant beds and spread it around my house and they were all gone two days later.

putting cinnamon around the window sills, doors, foundation really works well. i had a problem with ants and tried chemicals which worked for a while then ants came back. cinnamon kept them out of the house with no chemicals or danger to kids and pets. also smells very nice

This is one of the cheapest ways, I have used it for years, 20Mule Team Borax laundry soap. Purchase one of the cheapo ketchup squirt bottles at a dollar store, put the laundry soap in the bottle and apply along the base boards around cabinet base and anywhere you see the ants, leave it lay until you no longer see any traces of the ants, they will carry it back to their nest and it will kill them. Vacuum up any left over borax when you no longer see any traces of the ants.

This sounds strange but it works. Take petroleum jelly and smear it lightly around your door and window sills. Sprinkle chili powder onto the petroleum jelly. Ants will not cross this barrier I guarantee it. Also you might want to put bait traps outside around the edges of your house. The ants will grab "food" from these traps and take them to their colonies which will kill the population. if all else fails buy some Raid or HotShot and have at it.

If you know where they're coming in, sprinkle a line of cinnamon along the opening. The ants won't cross the line, plus it smells good!

Also, with cinnamon you needn't worry about pets or children getting sick like they would from ant poison.

When I was growing up my mom always had a piece of spearmint gum on each shelf to keep the ants away. It seemed to work as we never had ants in the cupboards.
