I don't want one of those things were you have to complete an offer and have 18 other people complete one then you get a laptop.

You have to run into the apple store, pick which one, and run off with it. You have to pee on it on the way out so they dont take it back.

Go to http://www.craigslist.com there is a section for free stuff. Just click on your city and check often enough. You may not get a laptop, but you might get a free desktop, monitor or tower.
Also if you have a bit to spend go to http://www.usanotebooks.com I haven't seen any lower prices yet, I think they have a student discount.
