I really wonder what they could 'legally' do to me IF I were to put personal belongings on the porch in a bag, change the locks and keep the valuables,ie, washer/dryer, computer,TV for the $400+ that they owe me...

I would advise against changing the locks, keeping their valuables, etc. This will only make the problem worse.

I would talk to the landlord about your problem- perhaps he/she will have better luck with the attorneys/courts. Also, if the landlord can't help you, try finding another attorney. They can't all be bad and they can help you with the eviction.

If all else fails, just call the cops if they show up. The police will help you sort everything out. Or, you could always move.

This is to EASY....Have your landlord issue you a 3 Day Notice to Quit - that is quit having unauthorized persons residing at the residence. Once the time limit has passed, your landlord can have you "all" evicted, and you and he can come to terms privately.....You don't need an attorney and neither does your landlord. If you are a good tenant, he'll help you.

Careful with property that isn't yours - your landlord has legal issues if property is not handled properly.

However, if you can't afford the rent w/out roommates, will you just be switching from bad roommates to unknown quality roommates? Landlord may be less likely to get involved and just evict you.

Go home for a week and then call the cops and tell them some intruders might be in your apartment.
