Why do all repair shops (I whent to 5 of them) try to con you in to getting a rebuild if you don't need one and why do they all try to act like they are your best friend they all suck at acting because you can tell that all they want is your money as evident with my encounter with Amco transmissions. As soon as I said thats way more exspensive than the competion, why do you charge so much money 2600 compared to (1400 to 1600) he almost immedatly stoped the whole I'm your friend bit and he said to me infront of other people because I can carge that much so if you don't like the price than go some where else. This really pissed me off and I think it made the other people their think twice about having there cars at such a poorly run shop. So before I left I told the guy that he was a peace of S%$T and that he should not be in biusness. I also felt like telling the rest of the tranny shops the same thing but this guy just made me so mad.

Amco is like Jiffie lube, they want your money. This is true with MOST all of the big chains. Look around, talk to your friends, find a local independent. Why pay for a tranny and torque converter when all you may need is a flush and a new filter!!! Been there, done that. $2600 quote from Amco on my 77 Cad Eldorado wound up $ 24.00 for the filter and fluid and $50 for the labor.

however unfortunately there are people out there and all they want is that almighty green stuff instead of working with you to resolve the problem and amco is usually good about this. check with friends family etc. they may help with getting info about where to go
