I don't know, I never had a girlfriend like that and I hope I never get one either.

However, love is a respect for each other. I enjoy the fact that my husband of 31 years allows me time to think how I perceive things, lets me make up my own mind about things and we can both agree to disagree on some issues.

He's always there for me, and is a great friend. Sometimes one of us will say something out of the blue and the other was thinking about that same thing at that same time.

I give my husband the space he needs and he does the same for me. But when we are together, we are never lonely.

Marriage is a wonderful thing if people learn to work through their issues and through life together. My husband and I have many of the same values and enjoy many of the same things together. I guess, I would want my 'man' to give me a life time with him to know that he loves me true. My husband is doing this for me now.

Listen to music silently with me for an hour.

Seek pleasure and comfort intimately instead of control.

Point out any lovely thing I've missed in observing the world.

Respond to an agenda with something less expensive that I like more.

Learn to play the piano so we can play duets together.

Become a successful and valued partner with me in playing duplicate contract bridge.

Value my silent meditations and not interrupt them.

Never ask me how I feel. My feelings can seldom be reduced to words.

Isn't saying it enough? I tell my bf I love him, that should be enough for him. Buying things or pretending to be someone else are not ways to show love. So again, I think that just saying "I Love You" and MEANING it should be enough.

To choose me, over her selfishly controlling family, to kiss me, to say yes, if I propose and not change her mind, to concede in an argument that gos from being a spat, being a quarrel, to consider my feelings at all times, since I'd consider hers, to hold hands with me, to sit on my lap.

I would like her to want to spend time with me and to tell me that she cares. Basically showing interest and caring, the same things that I want to do, that is it I guess.
