I love the lyrics to that song. It's so deep...To me it means that a guy finally found the one and only person he wanted to be with and he surrendered to his love for her forever. When he "died in her arms tonight I think he is saying that he gave up his heart forever to her. Mushy!!!

I'm pretty sure he was talking about about how he fell so deeply in love? and he knew it was wrong?....hence the 'I should have walked away' ?!?!

must some hypothetical line because if he actually died in her arms that night he wouldn't have been able to make it a line in a song later.or may be his a ghost ...... ooooooh spooky!
