I think it might eventually happen in a couple of generations when eventually every polititian will have at least tried it, most that will approve of it for medical reasons, and some that use it regularly. It willl be awhile still but it can happen. The problem is as you get older, I think it becomes less attractive as it does tend to make people more lethargic. And the majority of users are young and don't tend to make the best desisions. A stoner is not someone you want involved in running machinery or handling your paperwork or having your business reliant upon. Its really not the kind of thing that if you are into making money, own a business etc. that you want involved in it.

As soon as the government figures out a way to tax it and get more than their fair share of the profit of course. It's too easy to grow so they can't do it like they do cigarettes. I find it amazing that people still picture the stereotypical "stoner" when it comes to marijuana users. I've known many people in authority that you would never suspect had been using it since their teens.

Small doses are already legal in some states, but there has been too much negative propaganda ever since the thirties (Reefer Madness, anyone?) to ever relegalize it on a federal level. Also, there are too many other non-explosive issues for politicians to tackle. If you want marijuana, go to Oregon, that's what I say, because otherwise you run a dumb risk.

Pot is safer than alcohol. You need to smoke something like 10lbs to overdose. And if you've ever smoked before, you know how ridiculous that is. And in the case of Denver, it is legal for an adult 21 or over to be in possesion of less than 3 grams. But still illegal to sell and use in public and such.

Just what our legal system needs... a bunch of broke potheads, running around and slamming into walls. Great.

We won't see it. Our kids won't see it. Our grandkids won't see it. Canada will legalize first I think. Our government (usa) makes too much money off the people who get fined from it.
