The Dead!!! What a long, strange trip it's been...
I'm always unsure as to whether I'd call the Dead a rock band. They're really more of a cultural phenomenon, and to say the least, their style is either a category unto itself, or defies categorization.
So-o-o, maybe I'd say my all time favorite rock band is --
The Band!!!
P.S. Jimi was the all time best guitarist!!!

There are way too many bands to just have one favorite, but The Beatles, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Heart, and Aerosmith are among the ones who top my list

Aerosmith.
The are classic, retro, contemporary. They actually make music I want to hear. Unlike the stones, I'm just amazed by the fact these geezers can still stand up, not impressed by their new music or performance.

pink floyd,beatles,led zeppelin
these three bands will influence genre,style and music for hundreds of years
music must! not be categorized because we have more than one mood. sometimes i want to rock, sometimes i want to roll!
