My dear child, this planet has been here for a very long time,it is true that billions of years ago the known universe was a shooting gallery but for life to have survived on this planet it had to and did calm down, the truth of the matter in any thing science Say's or the surgeon general of the day is an op pinion of eather one man or a few, that happen to have your ear at the time, all things have settled into a daily(or millennium) routine but that doesn't sell papers, man is no god and man even if he thinks so can not even in math predict the future events.there are universal safe guards in place, live, love and forget that which can not be substantiated.enjoy life be a good personthis is all I ask.

I'm worried after seeing a dream about that.
I think positive! It's good if it doesn't hit.
But in case it hit the earth maybe i might turn in to a fossil so later on some other creatures who rule a peice of earth would dig me up and keep me in a museum or whatever.

Bottom line, if an asteroid that was big enough to mess up the planet really bad were coming, there's not a lot we could do with present technology to stop it. Why worry? When it's time to go, it's time to go. Enjoy life now :)

I never worry about asteroids hitting thr Earth. Since no one really intends to do anything about it, I just hope I'm far enough away to have a spectacular view and make it through the "nuclear winter".

In the book of revelations in the Bible, it gives many accounts of natural disasters that will be happening like "birthing pains"...more frequent and more intense. Like the sunami, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, fires, volcanoes, etc... The big question would be, When life all comes to an end, and it will, do you know where you will be spending eternity? The bible teaches that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, who died for all our sins, that we may have life eternally.

No worry. The biggy everyone seems to worry about is coming in 2026. A real near miss or possible hit.

don't worry dear... just chill! we are a very stubbern species and cannot be wiped out of the sky just like that.
The asteroid won't do nothing... da earth will ultimately go towards sun due to it's gravitational pull and then PUFF!
But hey... you gatta live for now- so Njoy ;)

Why would I worry about it, chances are pretty good I'll croak if it does (almost immediately too), and in the unlikely event I survive the initial impact, I'll be too preoccupied with helping what's left of my family to survive to worry about why I did.

We talked about this in another thread here:

Nothing to worry about. The next closest miss is coming in 2029 and then the next highest risk (at least that we know about) isn't gonna hit till 2880.
