Get a scanner some place will scan in the photo for you and email it to you. If you work at a office have someone there do it for you and email it to you. Somone you know has a scanner or has access to a scanner.
What is scanning it taking a image and making a digital image of it so you can load it up on your computer.

Scanning is when you stick a piece of paper in side a scanner and then the scanner sticks that image on to the comptuer screen like magic. one would scan a photo by put the photo in the scanner with the colored part down on the glass and then one would press the scan button. pretty hard stuff.

OK, when you talk about scanning a picture while talking in computer terms, that means that a person, is using a scanner which is a device that looks like a small copier, puts the pic in it, then presses a button and the scanner transfer a digital image to the computer... it involves... a computer, a scanner and software that comes with the scanner when you purchase it. go to a computer store and you can probably ask someone to demonstrate it for you.

When you scan your pic or any doc with device attached to the computer then it called scanning. After the scan has completed you can use it anywhere through your PC. To scan any doc you will need a scanner and drivers to get it work.

Go to a computer store or do a search on a scanner on your pc and you can buy them...you can get them these days as photocopiers-scanner-printer for under 80 dollars AUS.

You'll need a scanner. It's old technology and scanners are pretty cheap. If you are running XP... most of the work is done for you. Piece of cake.
