The Dems. They are willing to pay down the debt and keep the economy strong ala Bill Clinton. They care about your privacy. They care about your constitutional rights. The Republicans are all about spying, lying, transferring wealth from poor to rich. Stealing elections. They want to un-separate church and state. Force God down your throat. War seems to be their favorite passtime. So what if people get killed -the ends justify the means. They could care less about the environement if they had their way this world would be a polluted mess. Republicans want cheap labor and don't care if you lose your job to get it . As long as the profits go up.
Democrats care about a livable wage. Example: Sante Fe NM. raised the min. wage and guess what ...Business increased. Democrats will do a better job but we need a Progressive party to change this country. Some Dems are way to liberal and most Republicans are not Republicans in the traditional sense. They are Neo cons. and have little in common with their past values.

Democrat. The Democrats think differently, and seem more like the adults they are, where as the Republicans some times give the impression, that they're "don't care" selfish children. It's all in thought, of course. The Democarats just have everyone's best interests in mind, and the Republicans don't really care about the people. And there are really rarely more than 2 things about which I agree with the Republicans.

There is no foundation from which the question can be answered. What is it you are attempting to achieve through the elected office? With such a foundation the question takes on some meaning. Even so, those elected to office are individuals and they will perform as individuals.
If you are asking for a perceived difference between Republicans and Democrats, I suggest you have left out an option. That is, elected officials who place the Constitution ahead of party policy.

It depends on the office;
For example if its a tax collector I'm sure its a Democrat, but if its a prosecutor its probably a Republican. The Democrat would be better at the social services agency and the Republican better at the Pentagon (big office). You get the drift?

It really depends on what you are - Republican or Democrat.
A good Democratic president would be considered a good president by a Democrat but would be considered a bad president by a Republican, and a good Republican would be considered a good president by a Republican but a bad president by a Democrat. That's the way it always will be. Americans cannot unite and do something that benefits everybody. Only things that benefit themselves. That's what will always happen. It's sad like that, I know.

What office.
Well you have seen the absolute horror that will be a Republicans Legacy. Clinton is 10 times the man Bush ever thought of being, and he left this country and the world in a better place when he left.
What Bush has done is unspeakable, and even while body bags come home daily, he's trying to start another war!! Is this guy a mad man!!
Just open your eyes and look at the records!! The difference is between night and day!

Assuming you mean the Presidency, I think the party is less important than the strength of the person's backbone. We've had some great Republican presidents - Reagan springs to mind - and some great Democrats as well, such as Truman and Kennedy. The best person for the job is someone who won't take any crap, either within or from those who mean us harm.

The poster DR below wrote: "The Republicans are all about ... transferring wealth from poor to rich"
Get that? Republicans take away the poor's wealth!!!!! That's probably the stupidest thing posted today!
DR also praises the city of Sante Fe for raising the minimum age. Here's an alternative opinion on that situation: http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=9410
DR claims business increased, but that's not true. My link shows many businesses moved out of the city, or decided to not move in.

A Democrat would do a better job because they would save the environment, help the infrastructure, help the poor and end the war among other things!

since you did not say mangement, a liberal, since they never come up with any plans of thier own, only complain about what the real leaders are doing. And always have someone else to blame even if they had agreed at first.
so it sounds like a average american officer worker.
