Saturn looks so close to Mars right now you might think they are going to colide!

Both planets are just about due west, at least in San Diego.

Mars is very easy to spot because of the reddish hue.

If you extend your arm and hold up your finger, Mars and Saturn would fit within the area of your fingernail!

If you have a standard set of binoculars, say 7 X 35, you can see the rings of Saturn!

In the early evening, you may also see Mercury below and at about the same angle.

I hope you see all 3 planets.

Where it appears in the sky? Well, according to "Stars & Planets" by Ian Ridpath, it should be right inside the constellation Cancer, next to the star Asellus Australis. (basically, Cancer looks like an upside down Y, and Saturn should be just to the right of the middle of it)
