I am an atheas because my educational backgroud has logicly lead me to believe so, so please do not try to convice with a religious approach. However, I truely believe that spirituality is an essential element of human life and happines. I believe that spiritualism and the existence of god can be seen as two different things. I can be spiritual about nature and humanity. Yet I don't believe on anything devine. I am not seeking for devine advice neither looking to encounter in a religuos debate because that's not my point. But, is anyone out there who is spiritual? Has any one found something real, logical, and honest that fulfills your spirituality? Can Buddhism be concider a spirutal and not divine believe? I'm looking for honest anwers. I like to se if any one has a similar take on this as my slef. Thanks

I am also an Atheist, or at least that is what I tell everyone because to explain my beliefs to each person who asked would be like trying to explain the ways of my life. That would take too long. I don't believe in any kind of creator, though. I see the belief in a creator as a sense of fear and paranoia in one's existence. As far as fate and destiny go my sensible side and my romantic side are in a tango over that one. I think it's more of an imaginary play of my mind that sways me in romance of finding destiny and the one you are destined to be with. It is the reality in the logic that keeps me grounded in my, shall I say "unfaith"? Other than that, I do believe in a sense of good and bad, not evil and there are judgements that everyone must make. Other than that though good and bad is just a matter of opinion.
What bothers me the most are the Christians. They are the only religion that I have ever seen that will practically chase you down a street in order to get you to join their religion. Now that I think of it, they are the only religion that will actually say, "hey come join our religion or else you are a sinner." I have never met any muslims or jews or buddhists that have tried to get me to join their religions. I don't think they would turn me away if I wanted to join, but they don't bug you about it. I don't go up to random people and tell them to take Jesus out of their hearts, so why should they come up to me and tell me to let Jesus into my heart.
I do agree with you, though that you should stick to your beliefs no matter what they are. I don't mean that you should HAVE to make it your entire life that you become a monk or nun or preacher or whatever. I just mean that to be true to who you are you must stick to what you believe to be true, so don't let anyone falter you.

I totally understand where your coming from. I myself don't care to get into a religious debate. I believe that a God exists but is totally different than what mankind has made him out to be. I could get into why but I'll just get to my point. I believe Jesus is his son and whatever he said was what "the father" as Jesus always called him was in agreement with. According to him God is no respecter of persons and considers them all equal. I in my experiences have had proof that God exists. I believe from those experiences that God won't force someone to do something they themselves don't want to do. I believe he holds freedom of choice a "divine law" above all others if that makes sense :) If you want "honest answers" I'm willing to share what I've learned if you want it. well, take care~
