I recommend getting your tickets through Disney or a travel agent which you can typically do online or over the phone. I'd make sure you have your tickets and reservation prior to your trip. Disney offers great deals directly through them for tickets and lodging and agents can sometimes provide the same deal for a little bit cheaper. I recommend staying on site for Disney, the perks are so worth it! There's resorts for every budget on site at Disney. I also recommend looking at your dinning choices beforehand and possibly making reservations for your dinning especially for the more popular places (for example the character dinning and the nicer restaurants for dinner or one's with limited seating) because you might not be able to get in without reservations. I listed a great fan site to help you and Disney's own site.

It really just depends what you prefer to do. Disney or a travel agent could book them for you either online or on the phone. They will have the same prices, but you will get a lower rate than at the gate. I prefer to use an agent, just because it makes things easier on me. I tell them what I need and get my tickets. If you have ever worked with Disney, you know how bad it can be and just getting the tickets can end up taking an hour.

Other than that, you could buy the tickets at the gate when you arrive. There are two reasons I don't suggest this, first, you have to pay a higher price. Disney tries to prevent people from buying at the gate, so they charge a little more than buying them in advance. Second, you have to wait in line. So, if you are paying $50-$60 per person to go to the park, you don't want to spend an hour waiting to buy the tickets. It isn't fun and just takes away from the time you have.

If you haven't already purchased your hotel as such, the easiest thing to do is book it as a package. You can get your room, tickets, food, etc. all included. For this, I definitely recommend a travel agent.

The first time I went, I purchased tickets at the Disney Store in my local mall. That time we rented a condo outside of Disney.

The last time I stayed on Disney property and purchased tickets at the Disney website when I made my reservation. Did the same thing this year. I find the people that work for Disney are the most helpful & courteous.

The most convenient is to buy directly from Disney either via the internet at www.disney.com or by phone. See the website for any other info.

Booking through Disney itself is alright but a travel agency definitely makes things easier. abovethecloudstravel.com is really good. The lady that owns it is super nice and they know what the hell they're doing.

We went last Summer and purchased at one of the Visitor's Centers around Orlando. Very convenient and informative. Here is their site, with ticket prices, so you can compare with other places.

Well internet is nice, but travel agents can usually get you a discount, even if it is only $10 or $15 off per ticket.
