I have looked up a lot of sites but am unsure on who to order from and whether I will get a genuine product, not counterfeit, and not pay an arm and a leg for shipping.

Be very careful of what website you order from online. Depending on where the product comes from, sometimes those places don't have regulations on what the products ingredients are.

I work at a vet clinic and quite a few people order from Petmeds.com. I also believe they have free shipping over orders of $50 -- which would be like a box of heartworm or flea/tick treatment.

Check with your vet on prices though. Since Pet Meds has become so popular, we have lowered our prices to match.

I would not trust a place like that since they do not get their meds from the manufacturer. There's no telling how many hands those meds could go through before they are sold, how long they sit in a warehouse or even if they are the real thing. Not to mention, if you get your meds from the vet and for some crazy reason your dog does develop heartworm, those meds are guaranteed and your dog's treatment would be covered with no cost to you. You don't get that guarantee if your order online. The few bucks more you would spend getting them from your vet is worth the peace of mind that your pet is 100% protected, at least in my opinion. Add: To What?!>, you asked what do wolves do? THEY DIE! The lifespan of a wolf in the wild is 8 years versus 15 years in captivity because in captivity they get proper medical care. That's almost HALF the life expentancy. Do you really want to do that to your dog? Haven't you ever wondered why wolves always look thin? Life in the wild is hard and subjecting your dog to illness just because animals in the wild get those illnesses is less than fair.

The one I would trust the most is called VetCentric. I think your vet has to sign up for it, but it's a really good deal for the vets (VetCentric gives them a little bit of the money back) so you should be able to sell them on it.

The good thing about this website is that since their whole marketing approach is to work with a person's regular veterinarian rather than circumventing them, they aren't tempted to do some of the shady things some of the other companies do. These include selling foreign meds that may not be the same quality as US meds and selling without a valid prescription. VetCentric knows they'd lose all their business if they totally tick off the vet community. The other companies already tick off the community but they don't care since they don't depend on vets for referrals.

Just get the meds from your vet. It is only a few dollars more and you have the assurance of knowing you are giving the correct medicine.
Doing so helps your veterinarian keep his costs down by not having to make up revenue lost to internet companies by raising rates.

I have used http://www.discountpetdrugs.com/ several times to order Frontline and Feliway. It was by far the cheapest site I found at the time. The products came very fast and were brand name. Good luck!
