As stated, they are probably termites if tannish in color. Ants usually swarm outside, not inside. They way you can tell is easy. Pick one up and look at it closely. There will be 3 sections to it. If the sections are very distinct, and rounded, you've got ants. If the body is almost one long section, then it's termites. If you have termites, forget about spraying, because it will not work. Vacuum up the bugs you see and call a professional (not Terminix, they are incompetent) who will set out baiting traps to kill the nest. If it's ants, you can make a powder of plain white borax and some white sugar and sprinkle it around the baseboards. They will take it to the nest and die in a few weeks.

If they are not termites they are probably fruit flies. Termites will be 2-3 times larger than the fruit fly and look like a red ant and rarely fly, you'll see them crawling in cracks and crevices. The fly likes to hang around any kind of fresh fruit and some plants especially bananas. Go shake your house plants and see if they don't fly out. If so ,get some granular insecticide for houseplants. If not better call an exterminator.

could be termites; anyway, go to a popular merchant and purchase a spray that will kill just about anything and treat your house before they eat it out from under you.
