A blood test will show you are pregnant 6 days after conception and is 100% accurate so that will clear it up for you.
Did you look at the tests before the 10 minutes were up cause after 10 minutes a faint line will show up and it is a false positive called an evaporation line.
My HPT was positive, but the urine test at my doctor's was negative. Huh? Urine-based pregnancy tests vary widely in sensitivity. Often a home-based test (HPT) is much more sensitive than the kind your doctor's office uses. (Often doctors or clinics use tests that are sensitive to 50-100 mIU/mL of hCG; most home tests detect a level of 15-50 mIU/mL of hCG. See the HPT Overview for various HPT sensitivities.)
Practically speaking, this usually works just fine. By the time a woman suspects pregnancy and confirms with her doctor, she has usually missed her period, is farther along in her pregnancy, and has higher levels of hCG in her urine-- so a less-sensitive test will suffice. On the other hand, women who are trying to conceive and/or monitor their fertility are often much more in tune with their cycles and the potential for pregnancy, and therefore test earlier with more sensitive tests. So this scenario is actually fairly common. Because HPT's are extremely reliable, you should consider yourself pregnant following a positive test. Your doctor should retest your urine again in a few days, after your hCG has had time to increase.
Good luck and if you are pregnant Congrats!!!!

Yes doctors office pregnancy tests can be wrong, blood test and urine tests can be wrong, it all depends on your level of hCG(the pregnancy hormone) You can get a false positive, heres my information:
Home tests are very accurate (around 97%) when used correctly. Some kits come with two tests because mistakes do happen.
If you take a test too early, you may get a false negative (when the test says you are not pregnant but you are). Your body needs time for the hormone to rise to a high enough level to be detected in a test. If the test comes back negative but you still think you could be pregnant, wait a few days and try again.
False positives (when the test says you're pregnant but you're not) are possible, but rare. A positive pregnancy test is a pretty good indication that you are pregnant.

very rare! because a doctor (obgyn) tells you to wait a certain time before comming in to make sure you have enough of the pregnant hormone (sorry dont know what its called) to tell an accurate test. It just depends on how far along you are! There may have been a mistake on the test the doctor gave you. Any number of reasons. not enough urine, test was not done right, there was a backteria in it. you never know. The blood test is the one to really worry about. It contains a higher concentrate of the pregnancy hormone.
GOOD LUCK

They can be for a number of reasons, but they are generally much more accurate than home tests, because the home tests are designed for a general body type and chemcical balance while a ob/gyn knows you as a person and knows the ranges of pHs and what not that can be found,. My sister had a couple of false positives from home tests, and the doc got it right witth a negative. The same doc also got it right with a positive months later, so maybe that means something as well.

The blood test should give you a real reading.. then I would ask my DR to do an ultra sound on you if you think that you r far enough along..for instance, of course this would depend on how long all this testing has been going on. that would show you some results as well!!good luck with the out come..just try n be patient..

Doctors use the same store bought tests that you boutght anyway....the only way to know for sure is to wait for the blood test, or wait 9 months and see if a baby comes out...

Ok when you take a pregnancy test. Tests can be wrong BUT if it shows postive it can't be wrong the only wrong you will get is a negative. So if you took 3 that show positive you are prego..

It was probably too early for the test to detect the low levels of pregnancy hormones. If you do not start your period a few days after it is due, have another test done.
