Being that I lived in Edmonton for a while and currently reside in North Carolina, I think its pretty sad to see Canadians come on here and insult some great people for no reason other than over a hockey game. Would we be having this argument if the Red Wings had been the team to take the cup out of Edmonton's reach?? Considering most players on the Wings are Canadian, as with every other team in the NHL, what does it matter if its Carolina or San Jose or the Stars. Carolina is no where near full of Rednecks and when you get right down to it, if you want to use the term Redneck, I would think Calgary and Edmonton (Although Calgary more so then Edmonton) has alot more "hicks" in the vacinity then NC.

As a Canadian you can't hate the Canes, since the majority of the players are Canadian- (Cam Ward- Sherwood Park Alberta, Rod Brind'Amour- Ottawa Ontario, Eric Staal Thunder Bay, ON, etc). They did a great job, especially at the very beginning- came out hard- scored in the first 2 minutes.

I happen to be from NC and I don't understand why you got a problem with us we aren't just a bunch of rednecks..I was born here and I am certainly not a redneck although I do favor the country..I don't know if your just pissed because the Oilers didn't win or the fact that Carolina has some of the better teams in sports and your tired of hearing about it.

A real north carolina accomplishment , an organization that couldnt even fill the seats during the playoffs and you call yourselfs fans maybe you should make a trip up to canada to see an nhl game and see fan fair at its best with no seats available.continue thinking your the best in the nhl when 80 % of your players are from canada. Without canadian players there would be no nhl.

Well since I live right near Raleigh, and I don't hate myself, then I guess my answer would be no... I love the Canes, and I think that with as many Canadians as we have on our team that it sucks that ya'll can't be happy for us... I also think its funny that ya'll called us Redneck Hockey, cause you know what? Put one up on the board for us... Your just ticked off because the team that you made fun of and insulted by calling rednecks turned around and beat you...

We know enough to turn you in for obscene language & insulting North Carolinians. Sore loser!! We know our players, they are very nice to our fans. Often eat at a little grill & bar that I eat at with Khristi Yamaguchi & her husband Cane's player, Bret Hedican & several team mates.
