Im about 18 weeks pregnant now (although i've always questioned the accuracy of that). My baby kicks from the time i wake up to the time i go to sleep and sometimes wakes me in the middle of the night. "Experts" say that i shouldnt feel strong kicks till 28 weeks and i've been feeling these for about 2-3 weeks now. I am positive that they are kicks and not gas becuse i figured out the difference earlier. The kicks are so strong you can feel and see them through my stomach. This is my first (and last) Prgnancy but i still would like to know is this normal and has anyone else experienced this?
Also the baby "balls up" (the best way i can describe it) alot real tight and you can also see it through my stomach. is that normal My next doc appt isnt untill the 29th so untill im able to ask him..if anyone else can help me out it would really be appreciated.
what can i say? My baby is weird and probably Hyperactive : )

You have a very active baby!!! This could be a good thing, or bad!? :o)
I dont' think you have anything to worry about. Are you relatively thin? And the fact that this is your first baby has a lot to do with it. Your uterine muscles are more tight than they would be if this was your second baby. You are more likely to feel it move around more. I felt my first son early, my second one, it took a few months. My friend is on her third pregnancy and she didn't even know she was pregnant until she was 18 weeks! How nice to find out then! ha
Hope this helps.......and the balling up, is just your baby getting into a position where he/she is pushing towards the outside of your uterine wall My second child was very active and I could sit and watch him move for hours.

It's totally normal. I've never heard of strong kicks not coming until 28 weeks. Maybe they mean strong like the kind that kick you in the ribs and take your breath away (yes it happens and its funny at first but it gets to be kind of frustrating).
It's surprising that your baby is waking you up in the night with it, but maybe this is happening because it is still so new to you. Babies are very active in the womb at night because they are usually lulled to sleep by your movements throughout the day, so when it is still (ie when you are sleeping) they get active.
Its definetley normal to feel baby movement at 18 weeks though. I was around there, maybe a little sooner, when I started to feel it.
Also, if you are unsure of your due date, you are probably up for an ultrasound anyway (unless you've already had it) they can sometimes give you a better idea of your due date.

I was told it wasnt the baby kicking also. With my oldest daughter i felt her kick the first time at 11 weeks my oldest son 13 weeks and my little 2 i felt both of them around 12 weeks. So you are not the only one. Ask the dr for a sonogram just to be safe.

It could be the baby. I started feeling my baby at about 17 weeks, and the feeling just keeps getting stronger. But with my first pregnancy I didn't start feeling the "butterfly" feeling until I was about 20 weeks pregnant. I guess each pregnancy is a little different.

Absolutely.
My kids both kicked early.
My grandaughter has been kicking her mon since before her 5th month. Everything you are explaining sounds normal. Don't be so worried. Try to enjoy it, especially if you are only going to haave one child. This is the best time of your life. Enjoy!!!
Good luck and have a Great baby.

Anything is possible because every woman and every pregnancy is different. I was also curious about whether or not there was a chance of twins and/or if you are quite thin. They say thin women feel the baby sooner.
Just ask your doctor and, in the meantime, enjoy your pregnancy!

Are you super skinny? Are you sure you only have one baby in there?
If you are very skinny, it would make sense that the kicking is visible. If you have more than one baby in there, it would make sense that you are feeling a lot of activity.
Don't worry...take care of yourself and try to relax. Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. Good luck!

Yes it is quite normal. In fact in my case I started feeling from 16 weeks. Some baby are early starter :)
May s/he will be watching lot of world cup with you and getting ready for action now itself. You should read Indian story about Arjun-Abhimanyu where Arjun told how to clear out of war circle (Chakraviu) however when he was explaining how to get out of it, his wife fall sleep so his son could listen that part and when it came to actual war he got killed while coming out :)

I would ask my doctor to do an ultrasound to determine the far along you are actually are. That way there won't be any question about it. I think their may be a miscalculation of your due date, if your are experiencing that much activity from your baby. Good luck and congratulations.
