marvel is better in my opinion. this is because their stories are more realistic, their characters easier to connect to, and they have more down to earth qualities.

DC for almost the exact same reasons everyone is saying Marvel: I think DC's characters are the more interesting and realistic.
In the past 10 years or so; DC has reached deeper and deeper into the minds of their characters, producing some pretty intense stories and moments.
DC's most recent Major Events (Identity Crisis & Infinite Crisis) and the almost 2 years that led up to them have yielded some great moments. (My personal favorites: Batman saying to Superman "The last time you inspired anybody you were dead!" during an arguement and Wonder Woman coldly and calculatingly breaking a major villian's neck by twisting his head around)
I will concede that I wish some of the Heroes that died over the years at DC would stay dead, but I kind of choose to ignore that.

i wouldnt say one is far superior than the other - they're both different and offer the readers a different range of chracters.
i prefer marvel because i find the characters and the storylines more realistic and believable than the dc characters, but i wouldnt say marvel is superior. both dc and marvel are very clever and imagination. i love batman, i think he's great and i've got some batman comics along side my x-men ones. its definitely a preference thing, not a superiority thing

While I love the cartoons based on DC properties, I'm more of a Marvel fan. To me, the Marvel universe is a LOT more realistic than the DC universe.
Examples: Some Marvel characters actually have to worry about money (Spiderman). Sometimes they get on each others nerves (Wolverine & Cyclops). Not every single character has a nice place to live (the Morlocks, the Runaways). Some MArvel characters died (and STAYED dead! ex. Doug Ramsey, John Proudstar, Illyana Rasputin, several of Emma Frost's Hellions)

I prefer DC Comics over Marvel because of its characters & the storylines that are so good. DC has more to offer than any other comic book company ever around.

I'm kinda split between them. I'm the rare female that actually gets comics. I'd probably say 80% DC (Tenn Titans, Outsiders, Nightwing, Green Arrow, JSA) Marvel 15% (X-Faxtor, Capt America, Squadron Supreme), 5% Vertigo (Fables, Bite Club VCU)

I prefer Marvel Comics due to the more interesting characters it has created throughout the years. These characters are more relatable and have more intristic flaws within them...i.e. the X-Men, who were created as a parallel to the civil rights movement of the 60s. These are characters than many people can relate to and understand better.

Marvel. Their stories are more dynamic and I enjoy their characters better. That said the current "Face the Face" arc in Batman is really good and I'm enjoying 52.
