It's like gritty and almost clay like. It's gross. And dandruff shampoo makes it go away. But it's not dandruff, I think. Because isn't dandruff like dry and flakey?

It depends. Dandruff, when mixed with natural oils from your skin can become like that. Use dandruff shampoo as much as you can and it will be ok.

And it's NOT lice. Lice are actual bugs, like fleas, that jump and bite. If you itch your head because you feel like there's something there, than that's different. But just the gritty white stuff is not lice. Don't pay attention to hiphopbabiluva (no offense hiphop!).

If it is itchy too it could be seboric dermatitis. This is psoriasis of the scalp. You will have to have it looked at by a doctor. The over the counter stuff for it does not work. But it usually will clear up some in the summer.

I doubt it is lice, it could be the conditioner your using. If it doesn't rinse out it will build up your scalp.

Sounds almost like what babies get...although I do not know the adult name. For babies, it's called "Cradle Cap".
