First, get animal proof garbage cans. Lock up anything outside your house that is loose, shiny, or edible. Keep your pet food out of racoon reach.
If you have a house, make sure that you porch, attic, and garage are screened in. The same with any fish pond.
This should take care of 90% of your problem.
You can live trap but if you have a big problem still and the first steps don't remedy it, you want to call your local Fish and Wildlife ranger. They may need to evaluate the area. There could be an illegal garbage dump near by, or over population of the animals.

Get rid of their food source and they will go somewhere else. Are they eating in the trash can? Make sure they cannot get in. The "restaurant" is closed!

well, you may just want to get a .22 and shoot them. if you set off some fire crackers after you shoot you wont get caught shooting. ammo is cheap and if you are a good shot you can take them down fairly quickly. this isnt intended as a joke... sometimes it is just easier to shoot them.
just try not to shoot anything you are not supposed to(people)

antifreeze kills raccoons by dehydrating them.
They wash the food in it and like the taste.

Get live traps and relocate any that you get to a place far far away, dont shoot the lil guys!
